Ribbon Window Problem on secondary monitor

Dec 4, 2009 at 12:05 PM

If you open a ribbon window and position it on a secondary monitor, the window adornments (sizing, maximise, minimise, QAT etc) stop working.

Happens if the secondary monitor is positioned on the LEFT. Does not happen if the secondary monitor is positioned on the right.

Applies to Win 7, Vista, and XP

Also, if you open a DirectX app (eg MS Flight Sim) while you have a ribbon window open, the adorners again stop working, but this time also, large chunks of the ribbon turn black as if they are starved of updates. Does not seem to happen if FS is already running when you open the RibbonWindow.

Can the issued please get onto the list of things to be resolved in 1.0?

Thanks.

This issue also applies to:

  * Window resizing (you can't resize the window horizontally or diagonally)

  * Opening the quick access toolbar (to minimize the ribbon)

Yes, we have a bug tracking this internally and plan to fix it in the next Ribbon release.

Thanks for taking the time to let us know!

what is the schedule for the next release? Will it support .NET 3.5?
