Button grouping within ribbon tabgroup

Nov 25, 2008 at 6:24 PM
According to the guidelines on proper use of a ribbon, similar buttons within the same tab group on the ribbon need to be cosmetically grouped together. Take strikethrough, subscript and superscript in Word for example. The buttons are placed tightly against one another, the left-most button has rounded left corners and the right-most button has rounded right corners.

I cannot find any documentation on how to accomplish this in the ribbon ctp. Is it implemented in the CTP?

Hi wahupadapupa,

Yes, you can achieve this using the RibbonControlGroup.  For example,

<rbn:Ribbon>
    <rbn:RibbonTab>
        <rbn:RibbonGroup>
            <rbn:RibbonControlGroup>
                <rbn:RibbonButton Command="..."/>
                <rbn:RibbonButton Command="..."/>
                <rbn:RibbonButton Command="..."/>
            </rbn:RibbonControlGroup>
        </rbn:RibbonGroup>
    </rbn:RibbonTab>
</rbn:Ribbon>

Thanks!
