WPF Ribbon : RoutedUICommand?

My application currently uses RoutedUICommands to dispatch commands from the toolbar, menu bar, and another vendors ribbon control.  I would like to be able to use the Microsoft ribbon, but it does not appear compatible with RoutedUICommands.  I do not want to specify the command handlers in the ribbon definition, I would much rather have the RibbonCommand object have a Command property that can be any type of command I want.  Is there an easy way to do this?

I think I found my problem.  The ribbon does not have FocusManager.IsFocusScope="True" so it was only routing up to the window.  Why does the command handler have properties for Executed and such instead of just having command implementators add the command to their command bindings?
